The Cossette Communication Group is a full-service marketing communications agency with over 1400 employees in 12 business units, located in 8 cities in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.

In 2003, Cossette developed a knowledge management strategy in order to leverage its knowledge, best practices, expertise and know-how, so as to maximize the Group's performance and to make it an employer of choice in its industry. Cossette wanted employees to find reliable information easily, to locate experts quickly within the company and to be exposed to new ideas. To achieve this business objective, Cossette identified a need in the organization for a central knowledge base of structured and useful information, made accessible to the whole organization.

The presentation will cover the strategies and technologies chosen by Cossette for content organization.The presentation will illustrate how XML was crucial to simplify the production chain, contributes to automated content re-purposing, and provides users with advanced searching capabilities
